DFR v13: Enhanced Workflows Are here!
Convergence Data is proud to announce the release of v13 of Design for Retrieval (DFR)! π Based on popular customer request, the new release includes workflows designed to facilitate (and accelerate!) Examples of common workflows:
- New part / item introduction
- The lifecycle of legacy data enrichment across stakeholders
- Vendor portal data management
- Syndicating data to distributors
- Onboarding acquisitions
Why Workflows?
ποΈ Workflows are crucial to ensuring the successful introduction of new parts and products and maintaining consistent, normalized, and high-quality data for Engineering, Procurement, and eCommerce stakeholders alike. Workflows provide a standardized governance process for teams to follow, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken, reducing the risk of errors or inconsistencies. They also allow for collaboration and communication between teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned and aware of ownership and responsibilities.
π£οΈ By streamlining processes and eliminating manual tasks, workflows increase the efficiency and accuracy of your team's activities, which ultimately results in higher quality parts and product data. This, in turn, helps Engineering, Supplier, eCommerce and stakeholders make informed decisions, improve user and customer experience, accelerate speed to market, drive revenue growth, and more!
When Should You Use Workflows?
There's a multitude of potential use cases and significant benefits to putting workflows in place to fast-track previously manual processes. In particular, your team should consider incorporating them if:
- Your data projects typically involve stakeholders in different locations around the world πΊοΈ
- You leverage a data factory resource model in offshore locations such as India to increase process throughput π
- Your projects require coordination across many stakeholders who work on many different activities and tasks π₯
- Information (such as spreadsheets) is manually emailed and shared across stakeholders, resulting in coordination challenges and siloed data π
- Your team need to integrate a remediation loop to manage exceptions (e.g., rejections) β
Ultimately, having your team establish workflows will allow for:
- Visibility and transparency π
- Real-time status reporting via a dashboard β
- Clear expectations on task and deliverable ownership and responsibility π
